OUR BEGINNINGS
Bubba’s Carolina Jerky was founded by Larry “Bubba” Dunn in 2011. He is a Disabled Veteran, who proudly served 36 years in the US military. In his spare time, he would occasionally make beef jerky for his family and friends. Once retired, Bubba decided with encouragement from others, to start making his jerky and selling it. During the many years in the military Bubba tried a lot of foods from all over the world and realized sometimes you are not sure what you are eating. When he started this jerky company, he decided that 100% beef brisket was the only way to go and to keep his recipes simple but flavorful. He wanted his customers to know that they were getting good quality meat that came from local farmers in the USA. This was the start of Bubba’s Carolina Jerky.
In the beginning Bubba only made two flavors, Kickin’ Teriyaki and Regular Teriyaki. As the company grew so did the demand for more flavors. Although Kickin’ Teriyaki remains the number one seller today, people were asking for a bigger variety by expanding his flavors. Today our company currently has 11 Beef Brisket, 2 chicken and 3 bacon flavors. There is a flavor for everyone!
Now that Bubba has decided to retire, for a second time, he has passed his company to one of his daughters, Angela “Angie” Dunn. She has been there to help Bubba through the years with growing this business, attending events and fulfilling orders as needed. Angela has always excelled at being able to help find the right flavor for each person to enjoy. As the new owner, she intends to introduce Bubba’s Carolina Jerky to as many new people as she can and introduce new flavors!
